mentoring:
We both work as sole pastors, but we don't do our work alone. For the past five years, we have talked to each other several times a week, brainstorming sermon ideas, strategizing about church development and sharing life together. At times, our partnership has felt like a lifeline when our ministry has been sinking. At other times, our partnership has kept us grounded when our wishes and dreams for the church might have carried us away.
We believe that colleagues and mentors are essential to ministry, especially for those who are serving in solo pastorates. For this reason, we now offer a Mentoring Program especially designed for sole ministers of small to mid-sized churches. We provide:
-Weekly or bi-monthly phone consultations, ½ to 1 hour in length.
-Monthly emails to all of our mentees with reflections, tips and encouragement.
We are also available for one-time or semi-annual mutual-mentoring retreats with teams of ministers or clergy groups.
